Waiting for the candle close as a practiced skill

Why our price action drills treat the unfinished candle as unfinished information — not a dare.

Timer and notebook beside a study desk

Many entries fail not because the idea was foolish, but because the trader acted while the candle was still negotiating its close. The body that looked decisive at minute twelve can finish as a long wick that tells a different story.

Historical open drills

In class we replay opens with the right edge hidden by time. Students must write whether they would wait, act, or stand down before the close prints. Comparing those notes afterward is uncomfortable and effective.

What waiting is not

Waiting is not a moral virtue. Sometimes the close arrives and the idea is simply invalid. The skill is noticing that outcome without inventing a new thesis mid-candle to stay involved.

Private mentoring is where many students bring the trades that broke this rule.
